William "Bill" Lusk, 69, of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Bill was born on August 22, 1956, in Ypsilanti, Michigan, to Ernest and Nancy (née Lee) Lusk. He spent his childhood growing up in Northville and graduating from Northville High School where he spent four years on the Varsity football team.

Bill was the proud father of Bradford "Brad" Lusk and Bernadette “Bernie” Coulter. Family was at the center of Bill's life, and he took great pride in watching his family grow through the years. Even while spending the majority of his working career on the 3rd shift, he would always forgo sleep and made it a point to attend all of his kid’s athletic and dance events during the day year-and-year.

Bill dedicated more than 40 years of service to Kroger, splitting time between a handful of stores and various positions within each store. Bill also enjoyed working side-jobs with friends and spending many Octobers and Novembers working at a deer processing business.

Outside of work, Bill embraced every opportunity for adventure. He was an avid hunter, proudly harvesting many impressive deer by way of his bow/crossbow over the years. His love for deer hunting was not simply time spent in the blind, but rather year-round with time spent feeding deer, scouting, and improving his hunting locations.

His hunting trips also included elk hunts in Montana and boar hunts down South. His appreciation for archery includes a long dedication to perfecting his skill with competing in tournaments and endless hours spent in the backyard grouping his shots. He was also a devoted Harley-Davidson enthusiast who cherished the freedom of the open road and often embarked on cross-country motorcycle trips.

In 2011, Bill married the love of his life, Barbara Shenk. Together, they shared countless adventures, cherished memories, and many laughs. In 2015, they made their home in Mesick, where Bill quickly fell in love with the beauty and wilderness of northern Michigan. He could often be found exploring the woods by walking his dogs, clearing fallen trees, and enjoying the peace and solitude that nature provided.

Above all else, Bill treasured his family. He was a committed husband, father, and grandfather who took great pride in their lives and accomplishments.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Lusk.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara "Barb" Lusk; his children, Brad Lusk (Ainsley) and Bernie Coulter (Derrec); step-daughters, Nicole Scanga and Julie Cox (Bryan); and grandchildren Reece, Kennedy, Kaiden, Levi, Bentley, Nicolino, Kyler and Radley; along with extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
