William W. Braim, 79, of Traverse City passed away peacefully on June 11, 2022 at the Villa.
Bill was born on March 8, 1943 in Detroit to the late Woodrow Wilson and Leona (Wilson) Braim.
He graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Education in 1968.
Bill honorably served in the United States Army from March 1969 to December of 1972, earning the rank of Captain in the Military Police. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal and a Bronze Star.
Bill was the manager at Grand Traverse Stamping for many years. Following his retirement in 2009, he enjoyed volunteering at Peace Ranch in Traverse City and becoming an ambassador for the National Cherry Festival.
Uncle Bill will be greatly missed by his nephews Robert (Pamela Besaw) Braim of Elk Rapids, Christopher (Kelly Edwards) Braim of Holton and Michael Braim of Texas; sister-in-law Joan Braim of Walkerville; great nieces and nephews Alex, Aaron, Emily, Lily, Ashley, Emily, Mike; great great niece Graceland and lifelong friends Cliff and Reva Williams of Somerset, KY.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother James.
In accordance with Bill's wishes, he was laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery surrounded by his close family where he received full military honors.
