TRAVERSE CITY — William C. Beals Sr., 85, of Traverse City and formerly of Cambria, Calif., passed away March 10, 2011, with his loving wife, Casey and children by his side, at Munson Medical Center. Bill was born on Nov. 17, 1925, in Detroit, to the late Charles and Ruth (Patterson) Beals. Bill served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy. Throughout his life he was an active member of his community and belonged to several service organizations. On May 27, 1967, Bill married the former Grace "Casey" M. Hillmaster, in Sante Fe, N.M. Bill and Casey shared 43 wonderful years together. Bill was a district manager for the Rexnord Corporation. He retired in 1988. In 2001, Bill and Casey moved to Traverse City to be close to family. Bill is survived by his wife, Casey; daughter, Betsie (Larry) Kortokrax; son, Bill (Marti) Beals Jr.; son, Bruce (Amy) Beals; daughter, Kathy (Bill) Morgan; and grandchildren, AJ (Heather) Kortokrax, Laura Kortokrax and Cody Morgan. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Robert. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2011, from 2 until 4 p.m., at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home.
