TRAVERSE CITY- William "Bill" G. Smith, 83, of Traverse City passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Grand Traverse Pavilions. Bill was born October 29, 1930 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Albert and Teresa (Mikula) Smith. He was married to Elsie Milks on June 19, 1965 in Traverse City. Bill proudly served his county in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Bill was a member of the Cherryland V.F.W. Post 2870 and the American Legion Post 35. He enjoyed country music and he and Elise made several trips to the Grand Ole Opry.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Elsie, a daughter Leslie (Bucky) Gerou, three grandchildren; Kasey, Kaitlyn and Samantha and a brother Joseph Smith.

Bill was preceded in death by two brothers; Dave Smith and Fred Smith.

In accordance with Bill's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
