Obituary

William Frederick Jones, 84, of Lincoln Park and Traverse City, Michigan passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015. The loving husband of the late Mary Lou. Beloved father of Bryan Jones, Marcia (Robert) Hudson and Bruce Jones and dearest grandfather of William, Matthew and Ben Jones and Robert, Nolan, Lauren and Coltrane Hudson. Also surviving are a former daughter-in-law, Joanne Momcilovich as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was predeceased by siblings, Mary Louise and Dean.

Bill attended Ferris State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Detroit Institute of Technology in 1956. After graduating Bill worked as a draftsman for the Mobil Oil Company. Later he served several municipalities as a Building and Safety Director, including the cities of Flat Rock, East Detroit, Gibraltar and Lincoln Park. A talented architect, Bill designed over 3000 homes and commercial buildings during his career. Bill was a kind and gentle man. He loved Big Band music, watching the Detroit Tigers, cherry pie and surrounding himself with family and friends, sharing stories about his life. The cottage he built on Old Mission Peninsula in 1954 was the place he joyfully spent the last few weeks of his life.

In accordance with Bill's wishes cremation has taken place.
