William "Bill" LeGray, 81, of Cedar, MI passed away September 8, 2018.
He was born to the late Henry and Alice (Frederick) on November 12, 1936 in Detroit. He was one of three boys including his twin brothers, David and John.
Bill had a thirst and passion for knowledge. In his time, he earned a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, and Organizational Development. After working for various aerospace companies around the country, he returned to his hometown of Detroit where he pursued a career with Ford Motor Co. for almost 30 years. In retirement, he became a licensed builder to supervise the building of his and Carol's perfect retirement home on the beautiful shore of South Lake Leelanau. This little slice of heaven that Bill cared for and loved is the place he found peace and happiness. His favorite moments were with his family at this lake house.
He loved the outdoors, boating, riding his jet ski, hiking, motorcycling, movies, and enjoying special time with his granddaughters. He was an avid reader and never stopped learning. He loved spending time on his computer communicating with family, friends, and colleagues.
Bill was a kind and gentle soul that touched those who knew and loved him. He will always be remembered and loved for being a great husband, dad, and grandpa. His family was the most important and treasured part of his life.
Bill is survived and missed dearly by his best friend and wife Carol, his children Jim (Roxanne) and Kathy (Mike), as well as his granddaughters Zoe, Ava, and Mia. He is also survived and missed by his brothers Dave and John.
