Traverse City - William C. Parr, 94, of Traverse City passed away August 2, 2015 at the Grand Traverse Pavilions.

William was born on November 8, 1920 in Flint to the late Lyman and Liela (McCoy) Parr.

On September 8, 1938 William married Gayle S. Stone in Ohio.

William served his country honorably as a member of the United States Navy.

William and Gayle moved to Traverse City from Florida in 1983 after retiring as a real estate appraiser. In his spare time he enjoyed reading about and discussing politics,playing golf and completing crossword puzzles.

William is survived by his son Gary Parr of Grand Blanc, son Phillip Parr of Florida, and son Matthew Parr of Traverse City, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

William was preceded in death by his wife Gayle, his son Craig (Judy), sister Norma Moss and brothers Jack Parr and Chuck Parr.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 3:00 pm.

William will be interred at the Garden of Remembrance at First Congregational Church.

Memorial contributions in memory of William may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
