William 'Bill' Pratt, 69, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully in his sleep on October 5, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born October 7, 1947 to the late Wilfred and Hope (Yarian) Pratt in Detroit, MI.
Forty years ago he married his loving and devoted wife, Sherry (Stacknik).
Bill was a man few words, but one of the biggest hearts. He loved selflessly, lived generously onto others and was the most dedicated husband, father and grandfather ever. The apple of his eye was his grandchildren. He would do anything for them, including making sure that they were fed well and loved even more. Bill was a very hard working man with the strongest work ethic. He retired from Sara Lee after over 40 years of dedication. He then continued that dedication at Art's Auto Electric. This dedication was not just to his work, but was in all things that he did. He passed this on to children who will continue his legacy.
Bill is survived and missed dearly by his wife Sherry, his two sisters Peggy and Sandy (Matt) Barber, his children Tammy (Isaac), Cindy, and Billy Pratt, Tammy (Wayne) Kellogg, Vincent Hansen, William "BJ" (Heather) and Nick (Marta) Pratt as well as his 9 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering will take place October 9, 2017 from 1-3pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with open sharing from 3:00-3:30pm. Bill's final resting place will be at the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Those considering an expression of sympathy may wish to do so in Bill's honor to his family by way of the Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home at 305 Sixth Street, Traverse City, MI 49684.
