William "Bill" Richard Ramsdell, 66, of Traverse City passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Munson Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on December 6, 1945 in Erie PA, to the late Harry Smith and Ruth Cecilia (Forsell) Ramsdell. He married his high school sweetheart Kathryn "Katy" Barbara Snyder on July 8, 1967 in North East Pennsylvania. Together they lovingly raised two sons Steven and Mark.

Bill was the Human Resource Vice President for several branches of the Chef Pierre and Sara Lee Kitchens. After his work was completed with Sara Lee, he worked for 11 years at the National Association of Relators. Leadership Grand Traverse, serving as the Fundraising Chair for NMC and various other organizations kept Bill busy. Most importantly Bill was devoted to Central United Methodist Church. He was Head Usher, on the Parish Council and the Church Council. Bill will be remembered as a wonderful husband and father and he will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Surviving Bill is his wife Katy, sons Steven Ramsdell and Mark (Lisha) Ramsdell, two sisters Margorie Ramsdell and Harriet Hanson and many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation for Bill will take place from 5-7pm at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home on Friday, August 10, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 11am with a visitation held one hour prior on Saturday, August 11, at Central United Methodist Church. Pastor Chris Lane and Pastor Dale Ostema will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to Central United Methodist Church.
