Obituary

Bill Scott, 62 of Fife Lake, passed away June 24, 2019 at Munson Medical Center.

Bill was born on February 27, 1957 in Kalkaska to the late Charles Douglas and Margaret Jean (Morrison) Scott.

Bill graduated from Traverse City Central High School. He worked for 28 years at Sara Lee, ending his tenure as the manager of the maintenance department. Bill was also a master electrician and owned and operated B&B Electrical Services. In recent years he enjoyed retirement and taking care of his farm. In his free time Bill loved working on and building cars. He started out off road racing and that passion grew to racing at various courses. He enjoyed racing for over 30 years at the Cherry Speedway, the Merritt Speedway near Houghton Lake and at the Cranden International Off-Road Raceway in Wisconsin. He even built his own race car, a doodle bug and was rebuilding a 1940 Ford Hot Rod. Bill also liked to watch Nascar and cheered on his favorite drivers.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents.

Bill is survived by his wife of 17 years, Brenda; son Bill (Goldie) of Fife Lake; step son Ben (Shauna) Stutzman and step daughter Jessica (Nathan) Bell; many grandchildren; sisters Holly (Jeff) Henion of Traverse City and Christine (Brian) Titoff of Fife Lake; nephew Geoffrey Henion and nieces Heather (Tim) Brantley and Melanie (Adam) Hardy.
