William Joseph Sobota Jr., 77, of Traverse City passed away Monday, November 7, 2022 at Munson Medical Center with his loving family at his side.
William was born on December 31, 1944 in Dearborn, MI to the late William Joseph Sr. and Sophie (Chojanaki) Sobota. He married Frances Starr on September 19, 1964 at St. Barbara Church in Dearborn. Together they lovingly raised two wonderful children Denise and William Joseph Sobota Jr.
William worked for 30 devoted years for Ford Motor Company on the Railroad. After his retirement he enjoyed working on cars, building model cars and traveling. When his children were younger he and Frances took them to 43 States.
He was most proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. Fondly, William will be remembered as a loving husband, a good dad and a wonderful grandfather.
Surviving William is his wife Frances of 58 loving years, son William (Life Partner Mary) Joseph Sobota III., grandchildren Lilly (RJ) Holloway, Madison Begin and William Joseph Sobota IV, his sisters, Barbara Kelsey, Madeline "Mopsy" Massa, Christine Ford and several other loving family members and friend's.
William is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Denise in 2007 and his brother John.
Per William's wishes cremation has taken place. His family is being cared for by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
