Obituary

TRAVERSE CITY — William James Tway, 78, of Traverse City passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 30, 2011, at his home in Traverse City.William was born Oct. 26, 1932, to the late Earl and Helen (Kleder) Tway in Detroit. Bill served his country as a member of United States Army during the Korean War.On Oct. 6, 1962, Bill entered into marriage with the former Susan Symons in Saginaw.Bill made his living working in the accounting field before buying Wares Brothers Office Supply and moving his family from the Detroit suburbs to Traverse City early in the 1970s.He enjoyed spending time with his family, and it was with his family that he felt the most comfortable. He was a very proud father and grandfather and took every opportunity to be around his family.Bill would often be found tending to the landscaping around the house, recently expanding his skills as a gardener. Bill will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet nature, and tremendous sense of humor.Bill is survived by his loving wife, Susan Tway, of Traverse City; three children, William (Vickie) Tway Jr., of Katy, Texas, Robert (Anne) Tway, of Oakland, Calif., and Betsy (John) Borglin, of Rochester Hills; eight grandchildren, Isabella, Mika, Jonas, Alex, CJ, Luke, Ben and Tyler; his sister, Mary Lou; as well as many other loving family members and friends.William was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer; parents; two brothers, Earl and Alvin; and two sisters, Jean and Patricia.A Memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev.
