William W. Turner of Traverse City, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, entered into eternal life surrounded by his family on February 15, 2016. He was 72.
Bill was born in Grand Rapids to Robert and Margaret (Miller) Turner, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister Marbo Turner (Wynne).
Bill was an avid sportsman and gun enthusiast, earning several awards for marksmanship. He also enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes. He loved the outdoors and spent his time hunting and fishing the beautiful waters and woods of Michigan.
In 1971 Bill married the former Louise Ann Terpstra. Bill and Louise faced many obstacles in their 45 years of marriage. Thru it all, their love and devotion to each other was unwavering. This had a lasting impact on their children, grandchildren and others who were fortunate enough to witness that unique bond.
Along with his wife, Bill is survived by his children; Kym (Kari Harris) Taylor, Michelle (James) Brumfield, Mat (Tina) Turner and Jeff (Sahra) Turner all of Traverse City. He is also survived by his grandchildren, which he was so proud of; Amanda (Jesse), Aleya, Anders, James, Payton, Jalynn, Gage, Jakiah and Ashtynn as well as Lilah and Espirit and great granddaughter Ellie Grace.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will accept visitors at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Thursday February 25, 2016, with a service at 3:00pm officiated by Father Kenneth Stachnick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of ones choice in Bill's name.
