TRAVERSE CITY — William T. Walker, 95, of Traverse City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at his residence at Bay Ridge. Bill was born Aug. 26 1915. He was raised in Cambridge, Mass., where he married the love of his life, Esta Mae Fox, on March 21, 1942. They later moved to Grosse Pointe Farms in 1950. He worked for Simplex Wire and Cable until 1973 and then Rockbestos until 1978, when he retired. Esta Mae and Bill would have three children. Esta Mae passed away Nov. 23, 1977, and a year later Bill moved north to live on Skegemog Lake. Here Bill enjoyed fishing with family. He thoroughly enjoyed when his family would visit the lake in the summertime. When asked how he was doing, his response was, "Fair to meddling!" Bill is survived by his son, Bill (Lynn) Walker, of Sterling Heights; and daughters, Patricia Carrier, of Traverse City, and Phyllis (Albert) O'Neal, of Sterling Heights. Also surviving Bill are grandchildren, Bonnie (Mark Rongey) Carrier, of Traverse City, who has been such a great helper for Bill, Scott (Nicole) Walker, Lisa (Jon) Spencer, Sean O'Neal, Kelley Wolanzyk, Albert (Linda) O'Neal and Yvonne (Brian) Hall; and numerous great-grandchildren.Please feel free to view Bill's online guestbook at
