Wilma Marie Lautner, 95, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully at Munson Medical Center Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born April 8, 1922 in Manton, to the late Clinton and Goldie (Duer) Smith. Upon graduation from high school Wilma honorably served in the United States Army Air Corps, and is a veteran of World War II.
She married Donald A. Lautner, on January 20, 1945 in Traverse City, and the couple raised six children together and celebrated 68 years of marriage. She lived on the family farm in Williamsburg, raising dairy and beef cattle, harvesting fruit orchards of cherry, apple and plums. Upon retirement from farming she worked with Donald harvesting wood products, they milled from their own sawmill.
Wilma is survived by her daughters; Sandra Adams, Linda Lautner, Rhonda (Brian) Bissell, sons; Edward (Helen) Lautner, Donald (Sonja) Lautner, David Lautner; brother Richard Smith and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lautner, parents Clinton and Goldie (Duer) Smith; brothers Aubrey Smith, Ted Smith, Oscar Smith, Forest Smith, Cleo Smith, and sister Gyneth Smith.
A visitation will be held on Sunday February 11, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home. A funeral service with military honors will be held on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Reverend Carolyn Heider will officiate.
