Zurlene K. (Modd) (Hartley) (Folse) Pennell, 80, of Traverse City, passed away peacefully Sunday November 19, 2017 at Munson Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born on February 24, 1937 in Kenton, OH to the late Cary and Evelyn (Higgins) Modd.
She was one of the founding parishioners of The Church of The Living God and was very active in cooking and preparing church luncheons and dinners. She enjoyed dancing, sewing and quilting and painting crafts, creating greeting cards on the computer and sending them to her friends and being outdoors where she would enjoy mushrooming, swimming and fishing on the lakes.
Zurlene is survived by her loving husband Jim "Hank" Pennell; daughter, Deana (Marshall) Tompkins; son, James D. Hartley; a sister, Darla (Chuck) Raney.
She was preceded in death by her husband James O. Hartley, and husband Peter A. Folse; and sweet daughter Terri Lynn Wilson.
She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and many, many friends.
A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
