Plan for the future…

Plan for the future…

We invite you to meet with one our pre-planning counselors. Nicole Westrick or Brooke Stevens would be honored to meet with you here at our funeral home where they can give you a tour of our facility or at your home if you prefer. They will answer questions that you have, walk you through the process and keep things simple. They will also give you a cost estimate of your wishes so that you can make informed decisions regarding payment.

Life insurance or prepaid funeral plan? We believe both are important however, the best way to pay for your final wishes is with a prepaid funeral plan. Remember, the ultimate goal is to avoid a financial burden for your family.

One of the biggest differences between life insurance and a prepaid funeral plan is the availability of funds for your family at the time of your death. Over and over again we find that families planning to use funds from a life insurance policy are disappointed in the time it takes to access those funds. This often results in a family member paying for services and being reimbursed later from life insurance proceeds. This is exactly what most people preplanning are trying to avoid. Funds in a prepaid funeral contract are accessible to your family the minute you pass. Death certificates are not needed, no claim forms to fill out, and no waiting to receive funds.

Another benefit of a prepaid funeral plan vs. life insurance is that prices are locked in at the time of funding. At Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, when you prefund, we promise to never charge your family more for your chosen services, even though inflation will drive the costs up over time. Your family will still have the option to make changes to your plan or choose to add services or products later. Those changes may affect the overall cost but the prices of any services or products you previously funded will be honored.

Many payment options are available for prepaid funeral plans too. If you have funds saved that would be used for your funeral, if you died today, you can simply move those funds, in a lump sum, into a prepaid funeral plan. Monthly payment plan options are available as well. Depending on your age, products chosen, and services needed to carry out your final wishes, payment plans can start as low as $50 per month. Nicole and Brooke will walk you through all of the options and you can make the choice that is right for you and your family.

    Meet Nicole Westrick

After graduating from college, I had a job that was not my passion.  I was looking for something different.  At that time, my husband’s friend’s mother worked at Reynolds Jonkhoff as a preplanning consultant.  She mentioned they were looking to hire another preplanner.  I did not really know what it meant as I was young and had never been part of the funeral world.  Well, here we are, twenty-eight years later and I am still passionate about my work as a preplanning consultant.  Seeing the difference my work makes to a family on a really difficult day is immensely gratifying.  I have never heard from survivors who wished their preplanned loved one had not planned ahead.

    Meet Brooke Stevens

My name is Brooke Stevens.  All my life I have been a planner.  I find that planning ahead allows me to be prepared for any contingency.  For instance, my family will tell you that I always have snacks.  If my husband or kids are hungry, they can count on me, no matter where our travels take us!  To have found an opportunity to professionally help families plan ahead could not have been a more perfect role for me.  There is great peace of mind in knowing that decisions won’t have to be made in a crisis.  We don’t get to know the date of our death.  I can help you plan ahead for your final wishes so you and your family are prepared for any contingency.  My first bit of advice though, always have snacks, just in case!
